WHERE IS IT?

The conference is located at the Discovery Learning Research Center (DLRC) on Purdue's campus, which can be found at 207 South Martin Jischke Drive. Also for reference, it can be found just a few blocks south of the State St. and Martin Jischke Dr. intersection.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Great leadership begins from within. All great leaders such as Neil Armstrong, Drew Brees, Don Thompson, Amelia Earhart, Dr. King, Oprah, and others have one thing in common and that is the art of self-leadership. Self-leadership allows you to lead others effectively, lead a more fulfilling life, and acquire great CAREER OPPORTUNITIES. This dynamic event will cover issues of character, time management, discipline, core values, integrity checks, personal growth, and more!

This conference at Purdue University is ideal for students ready to launch their leadership journey or take their leadership to the NEXT level! And don’t worry this event will not be the usual sit-down lecture but an INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE. Be prepared to participate, whether it is giving your thoughts, sharing your experiences, engaging in activities, or watching short inspirational snippets. Led by national leadership guru Tim Elmore, he uses images that form LEADERSHIP HABITS and attitudes to teach about leadership. He understands that today’s generation is rich with images. So he uses videos, images, and media to represent the various layers of leadership.

Now that you know all about the good stuff, go ahead and register! This event will be EXCLUSIVE so only 140 people will be able to attend!!

WHO IS TIM ELMORE?

Dr. Tim Elmore is the founder and president of Growing Leaders, an Atlanta-based non-profit organization created to develop emerging leaders. Through Growing Leaders, Elmore and his team provide public schools, state universities, civic organizations and corporations with the tools they need to turn ordinary students into growing leaders who will transform society. Elmore’s curriculum is widely recognized as one of the most effective programs for training and inspiring our next generation of leaders. For more information on the Growing Leaders company please visit their website.

WHAT IS THE COST?

The cost is nothing! Normally, this event would cost $75-$100 per student but due to the generosity of our sponsors were able to waive the registration fee.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Expect to go on a journey of self-discovery as Tim Elmore guides you through the principles of leadership. You'll be amazed at your own potential but more so the leadership challenges that await you. This event will inspire you to accept those challenges and gain a sense of purpose that will set your leadership foundation. Check out these short clips to get a better idea of what to expect!

WHAT IS SBSSO?

SBSSO stands for the Science Bound Student Support Organization. This newly founded student organization was created to support students in the Science Bound Program by enabling them to reach their personal and professional potential. Our organization accomplishes this by providing leadership opportunities, networking, leadership conferences, community service, and fun social events. We believe in improving the lives of those around us so everything we do resonates with this principle. As a result, we are hosting the first annual Growing Leaders Conference on Purdue's Campus.
